Microsoft 365 Business and Frontline Plans
Licensing and Storage Basics
Prices are per person per month on an annual commitment, billed monthly. Licences are assigned per person, so different plans can sit in the same tenant.
Business plans include 1 TB of file storage per person and cap at 300 people. The frontline plans sit beside the business plans rather than below them. Frontline plans carry 2 GB of file storage per person and have no cap on the number of people.
Business Plans
Microsoft 365 Business Basic costs $9 per person per month and provides email, Teams and browser versions of the Office apps. Microsoft 365 Apps for business costs $13 per person per month and provides installed Office apps without email.
Microsoft 365 Business Standard costs $18 per person per month and provides email plus installed Word, Excel and Outlook. It adds webinar and meeting-recording features over Business Basic.
Microsoft 365 Business Premium costs $28 per person per month and adds security and device management to Business Standard. Business Premium includes the right to upgrade to Windows 11 Pro.
Frontline and Mailbox Plans
Microsoft 365 F1 costs $4 per person per month and provides Teams and the company intranet for staff who do not sit at a desk. Microsoft 365 F3 costs $13 per person per month and adds editable web and mobile Office apps and a mailbox.
Exchange Online Plan 1 costs $5 per person per month and provides a mailbox only. Exchange Online Plan 2 costs $10 per person per month and provides a larger mailbox with a 1.5 TB archive.
Add-ons, Security, and Copilot
Add-ons are sold separately: Defender for Office 365 Plan 1 at $3, Defender for Business at $4, Entra ID P1 at $9, Intune Plan 1 at $10, Entra ID P2 at $13, Intune Plan 2 at $5, Intune Suite at $13, Teams Phone Standard at $13, and Teams Phone with Calling Plan at $22. Intune Plan 2 and Intune Suite each need Intune Plan 1 alongside them.
Business Premium includes Defender for Business, Defender for Office 365 Plan 1, Intune Plan 1 and Entra ID P1. Business Standard with those four add-ons costs $44 per seat, against $28 for Business Premium.
Copilot is not included in any standard plan; it is bought on top of a plan. Business Standard with Copilot costs $30 per seat, and Business Premium with Copilot costs $40 per seat.
Phone Systems
Teams Phone Standard provides the phone system but no line to the outside world; external calls need a PSTN connectivity option bought alongside it. Teams Phone with Calling Plan includes a phone number and 3,000 outbound domestic minutes per month.
