CloudCentric installs the door access, guest Wi-Fi, outdoor cameras and network in vacation rentals on UniFi. 'Airbnb wifi not working refund' is a Google autocomplete suggestion, which shows guests seek refunds over Wi-Fi. A cellular backup can take over automatically if the internet drops, keeping door codes and guest Wi-Fi working.

Guest Wi-Fi runs on its own network, isolated from the owner's cameras, locks and sensors. The guest Wi-Fi sign-in page can carry the property's name and terms of use. Guest Wi-Fi terms and network separation are good practice, not a legal guarantee, and are not legal advice.

Door Codes and Access Management

Each guest can get a door code or Wallet pass valid from check-in to checkout, created from the booking calendar. UniFi Access revokes a visitor's credentials automatically when the visit time ends, and cancelling a visit revokes them at once. A driveway gate can open for the stay with the same guest credential, using the Access Gate Hub.

Cleaners, maintenance and the property manager get their own codes on their own schedules. A doorbell intercom rings the manager's phone, and the door can be opened from the call.

No native integration exists between UniFi Access and Airbnb, Vrbo, Hostaway, Guesty or OwnerRez. UniFi Access has a local API that can create a visitor and assign a PIN, so codes can be created from a booking feed. An open-source project already reads an Airbnb calendar or the Hostex API, creates a UniFi Access visitor with a PIN for each booking and removes it after checkout.

Outdoor Cameras and Platform Compliance

No indoor cameras are installed in rentals. Rentals get cameras outside only: the entrance, the driveway and parking. Camera microphones are kept off wherever a guest could be heard. Exterior hardware and mounting screws on beach rentals are specified for salt air.

Airbnb has banned all indoor cameras since 30 April 2024, including cameras switched off. Airbnb allows outdoor cameras if their location is disclosed in the listing, and never over an enclosed outdoor shower or sauna.

Vrbo bans surveillance devices inside a rental and cameras outside that capture the inside. Vrbo requires the listing to state each outdoor camera's location and coverage, and to state if a pool or hot tub is visible to a camera.

Environmental Monitoring and Alerts

Both Airbnb and Vrbo allow noise monitors that measure sound level without recording audio, if disclosed. UniFi has no noise sensor that measures level without recording, so noise monitoring is done with a dedicated decibel monitor.

Leak and temperature sensors report a burst pipe or a failed air conditioner between stays. Codes, cameras and alerts for several properties can be managed from one login.

Local Regulations for Lowcountry Rentals

Isle of Palms requires a short-term rental business licence and an owner or representative who can be on site within one hour, around the clock. Isle of Palms limits overnight occupancy to typically two per bedroom plus two, up to 12. Isle of Palms limits daytime occupancy to twice the overnight limit or 40 people, whichever is less.

The City of Charleston allows short-term rentals only in the owner's primary residence, except commercially zoned property in its rental overlay, with up to four adults overnight.

Folly Beach's 800-licence cap on investor rentals was struck down by a Charleston County judge on 14 August 2026; the city appealed and approved a moratorium on new licences on 26 August 2026.
