In-Room Internet and Wi-Fi for Hotels, Inns and Bed & Breakfasts
Installing Guest Room Connections
Rooms can get a wired network jack using adapters over the coaxial or telephone wire already in the walls, allowing you to upgrade without opening walls.
We install wall-plate access points that replace a standard wall outlet and add a passthrough jack for a smart TV or a guest laptop.
Ceiling access points suit open-plan areas inside your building, while outdoor units are fully sealed and mount on a bracket or mast.
Each access point gets its own Cat6 cable running to a switch that provides both data and power over the same cable.
Managing Coverage and Network Capacity
Wireless coverage is determined mainly by your building's wall construction, including materials like block walls, foil-backed insulation, plaster over metal lath, and stone chimneys.
Network capacity is separate from coverage, meaning a room that reaches a far wall can still run out of airtime when it is full of users.
A wireless repeater halves network throughput, so it is used only in locations where a cable cannot reach.
To properly plan your network, we perform a site survey by walking the building with a meter and reading the signal at the far corners of each room.
Guest Access and System Operations
Guest Wi-Fi can utilize a sign-in page displaying your property's name and terms, alongside access codes or vouchers.
The guest network is configured so that it reaches the internet only, keeping internal systems separated.
Network management runs directly on a console in the building with no per-unit license and no monthly platform fee.
While we install UniFi Access, it is not presented as a replacement for PMS-integrated hotel guest-room locks.
