Wireless Links Between Buildings

Avoid the Disruption of Trenching

If you manage a campus, church, farm, marina, car dealership, or warehouse with detached buildings, a wireless link connects your facilities without trenching. Trenching fibre or conduit across a lot costs money and closes the lot. Bridging also removes the need for a second internet line at your outbuildings.

Hardware for Point-to-Point and One-to-Many Links

The Building Bridge XG (UBB-XG) is a 60 GHz point-to-point link rated up to 6 Gbps over 500 meters, featuring a 5 GHz backup radio. The Building Bridge (UBB) is the smaller version. If your layout requires one-to-many links, the Device Bridge Pro (UDB-Pro) and UDB-Pro Sector support those connections. The standard advice for several buildings on a few acres is a chain of bridges with a switch and an access point at each end.

Range and Reliability in the Field

Users report a 60 GHz link with 5 GHz backup running for years as a set it and forget it solution, and a Building Bridge remaining solid for three years. While the 500-meter limit applies to the Building Bridge XG, one user reported that a different product, a Building Bridge Pro link, reached about 8.1 kilometers to a solar-powered camera site and connected on the first try even when 20 degrees out of alignment. Long-range sensors can also reach outbuildings up to 2 kilometers away in line of sight.

Unified Network Management

After linking the facilities, the remote building's cameras, doors, and Wi-Fi appear on the same console as the main building.
