Putting an outlet in the lot is easy, and it is also how a business ends up paying to run a car it does not own. There is no record of who charged, when, or how much.

A managed charger identifies the driver before it delivers anything, meters the session, and produces a figure per person per month.

That turns it into a decision somebody can actually make: absorb it as a staff benefit, recharge it to a tenant, or charge visitors. All three work once the number exists.

The metering is the part that matters. An outlet in a wall can record none of this, which is the whole difference.

Where the cars actually park

The survey settles which spots, how far they sit from the panel, and whether the cable run crosses anything that makes it expensive.

What the supply has spare

Incoming capacity is measured against what the building already draws. Load sharing usually avoids an upgrade, but it is checked rather than assumed.

Fitted and on the network

The charger is mounted, wired by an electrician, and joined to the site so it reports alongside everything else.

Who charges free, who is recharged, and what a visitor pays are agreed and configured before it goes live.

Questions we get asked

Is an electrician needed?

Yes, the supply side is electrical work. What the charger needs is specified so an electrician can quote it; the network and configuration side is not.

Will the incoming supply need upgrading?

Usually not. Load sharing lets the charger back off when the building is busy, which is what avoids the upgrade. It is checked against the actual supply first.

Can visitors be charged for it?

Yes. The same unit supports free staff charging, a recharge to a tenant, and a paid visitor space, and which applies is a setting.

How many can go in?

More than most people expect, because they share the available capacity rather than each demanding a full allocation. The supply figure sets the ceiling.

Does it work with every car?

It uses the standard connector fitted to cars sold here. Anything needing an adapter uses the driver’s adapter, the same as at a public charger.

The distance to the panel matters most

How many spots there are, how far they sit from the panel, and a recent power bill are enough to say whether the supply carries it.
