Hidden and Flush-Mounted AI Cameras
The AI Theta splits a camera in two: a lens unit 22.8 mm across (under an inch) on the wall or ceiling, and a hub hidden above the ceiling or in a cupboard. The AI Theta lens can be flush-mounted, and the flush mount is included. AI Theta lenses include a standard 8MP lens, a 6MP 360-degree lens and a long-distance lens; AI Theta Audio adds two-way audio. The AI Theta Pro uses a larger 360-degree lens, also with a flush-mount version.
Ubiquiti lists no weather rating for the AI Theta, so it is placed indoors or under a covered porch ceiling. The AI Theta recognises faces and licence plates and detects people, vehicles and animals.
Wi-Fi Cameras for Historic Walls
Wi-Fi cameras suit historic houses where plaster, brick or tabby walls should not be opened. The G6 Instant is a 4K Wi-Fi camera about 8 cm tall, rated IPX5, powered from a USB-C adapter or a PoE adapter. The G4 Instant is a smaller-resolution 2K version of the same Wi-Fi camera body, also rated IPX5.
Compact Exterior Cameras
The G5 Flex is a 2K camera under 5 cm across, rated IPX4 when covered, for eaves and porch ceilings. The G6 Mini Dome is a 4K dome 10 cm across, with face and plate recognition.
Doorbells and Entry Systems
The Doorbell Lite is a slim wired 5MP doorbell, rated IPX5. The G4 Doorbell Pro has a second camera pointed down at the step to show parcels. The G6 Entry is a slim door-frame unit with a camera, a package camera, a ring button and a reader that unlocks the door by card, phone, wallet or face.
App Recording and Integrations
All of these record to the same recorder in the house and appear on one timeline in the Protect app. Camera footage is searchable by person, vehicle, licence plate and face. Paid third-party drivers show UniFi cameras and doorbells on a Control4 system, and Home Assistant has an official UniFi Protect integration.
Survey, Installation and Contact Information
Camera positions are chosen for sightline, mounting height and light at the survey. Cable to each wired camera is hidden in the wall or soffit, and exterior fixings on beach houses are chosen for salt air. A privacy zone blacks out part of a view, such as a neighbour's window, so it is never recorded.
