Discreet AI Theta Security Cameras
Preserving the Feel of Your Space
A standard dome or turret changes how a room feels. A small lens avoids that, making it a match for medical and dental offices, salons, spas, boutique hotels, galleries, restaurants, and upscale interiors. The AI Theta is a hub with interchangeable lens units. The electronics sit in the hub out of sight and only the lens shows.
Hardware and Lens Dimensions
The standard AI Theta lens unit measures 22.8 mm across by 43.5 mm long, placing it under an inch across. Other lenses include a 6MP 360-degree lens and a long-distance lens. The AI Theta Pro comes with a 180-degree wide-angle lens option (ProLens110) and a long-distance lens option (ProLens50), and a flush mount is included. AI Theta Audio is an optional addition for two-way audio.
Management and Recognition Features
The AI Theta records into the same Protect console as every other camera, with no extra license required. Face and plate recognition are available on the standard lens, and the AI Theta is on the list of cameras that support opening a gate by license plate. Face recognition depends heavily on mounting height. Eye-level cameras do far better than high-mounted wide cameras, with one user estimating about 40 percent accuracy.
Appropriate Placement
These cameras belong in entrances, reception, and shared areas. Cameras cannot go in restrooms, which is where a vape sensor is used instead.
