On-Site IT and Smart Hands for Branch Locations

Coastal On-Site IT Services

CloudCentric is a managed IT provider in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, serving businesses across Charleston and the Lowcountry. We support multi-location and out-of-state companies with sites on the coast from Charleston to Savannah, including branches near Beaufort, Hilton Head, and Bluffton.

On-site IT is the last-mile work for a company whose IT department is central or out of state: a technician at the site when something has to be touched. The work covers smart hands, site surveys, cabling and installs, hardware swaps, and branch and new-office setup.

Smart Hands and Remote Hands

Smart hands is the industry name for hands-on work at a site, such as racking equipment, cabling, rebooting and swapping hardware, usually directed by off-site engineers. Remote hands began as a data-centre colocation service and has been extended to cover on-site work.

Your own IT team directs the work and stays in charge of its systems.

Site Surveys and Structured Cabling

A site survey records the incoming internet service, what it terminates on, and what would have to change. A Wi-Fi survey walks the building with a meter and reads signal at the far corners of each room.

Under the TIA-568 structured cabling standard, installed horizontal cable runs up to 90 metres, and the full channel including patch cords up to 100 metres. Existing cabling is tested and kept wherever it passes; Cat5e or better that is properly terminated can be reused.

Hardware Swaps and Local Setup

Hardware swaps cover firewalls, switches, access points, PCs, printers and phones. A firewall swap usually takes one working day; existing cabling and access points stay unless they are part of the job.

Equipment sourced locally arrives set up with your accounts, security settings and management in place, and is recorded with model and serial number. Power over Ethernet switches are sized by port count and power budget; a switch short of power shows up as devices restarting at random.

Branch and New-Office Setup

For a new or moved office: internet, network cabling, Wi-Fi, firewall, phones, printers and security cameras are planned and installed. Card terminals, staff, guests and cameras can sit on separate networks over the same cabling.

Remote access is tested for the people who need it, and network separation is tested from the guest side. A second internet line on a different carrier can switch over automatically when the main line fails. Battery backup carries switches, cameras and door readers through a short outage.

Multi-Site Operations with UniFi

UniFi Site Manager gives remote access to every UniFi site from one account, and Site Magic links gateways at different locations without manual tunnels. UniFi Protect Teleport Adoption lets a camera at a branch record over the internet to a recorder at another location.

Industrial Sites and Port Operations

The Port of Charleston's container terminals include Wando Welch Terminal in Mount Pleasant and North Charleston Terminal. SC Ports also runs inland ports at Greer and Dillon, linked to the Port of Charleston by rail. The Georgia Ports Authority describes the Port of Savannah's Garden City Terminal as the largest single-terminal container facility in North America.

Industrial sites can have vendor remote access set up so outside engineers reach plant equipment through a controlled route.

Handover, Support, and Full Management

Handover delivers the logins, labelled ports and an inventory of what is installed where. Ports are labelled to match the wall jacks, and logins are held in your own name.

Help desk requests arrive by phone at (844) 422-7000, email or Microsoft Teams, and each becomes a ticket. Full managed IT is available from the same team for companies that want it.
