Vape and Air Quality Sensors for Restrooms and Locker Rooms
Monitoring for Private Spaces
Vape and air-quality sensors detect and track air without recording anyone. This allows schools, gyms, hotels, restaurants, offices, senior living, and apartment common areas to monitor spaces where cameras cannot go, such as restrooms and locker rooms.
The UP-AirQuality Sensor
The Vape Detection & Air Quality Sensor (UP-AirQuality) is powered by PoE, so it needs one Ethernet cable. It reports a Vape Index from 0 to 100, plus CO2, PM1 to PM10, VOC, NOx, temperature and humidity. The same sensor reports CO2 for open-a-window alerts in meeting rooms and classrooms.
Alerts and Hallway Camera Pairing
The sensor is managed in the camera app, with no subscription. Alerts run through Alarm Manager, including an announcement on a nearby AI Speaker. Because cameras cannot go in restrooms or locker rooms, the sensor is paired with hallway cameras to follow up on alerts.
Product Limitations
This is an early product with mixed reports, and the community evidence is weak. The manufacturer states it cannot identify a person. One owner found it triggered by breakfast cooking, and a teardown questions how it calibrates.
