Mobile Wallet Door Access Systems

Using Phones and Watches as Door Keys

Touch Pass places a door credential into an Apple Wallet or Google Wallet so a phone or watch is tapped at the reader to unlock the door.

This replaces physical fobs, metal keys, shared PIN codes, and per-door subscriptions for offices, clinics, gyms, condos, and multi-tenant buildings.

A deployer at a 100-resident condo recommended Touch Pass over the mobile app for non-technical users, partly because the app alone can unlock a nearby wrong door.

A company that moved off another vendor's passive Bluetooth unlock to wallet NFC credentials called it a massive improvement with far fewer helpdesk calls.

If you are coming from a system that offers a passive walk-up Bluetooth unlock, note that UniFi Access does not offer this feature.

Additional Unlock Methods and Hardware

In addition to wallet credentials, UniFi Access readers support unlocking by NFC card, face, fingerprint, and PIN.

Users can also open doors using the Mobile Button and Mobile Tap features inside the UniFi Endpoint app.

Other unlock methods include a hand wave for exit-only doors and license plate recognition.

Instead of giving out a shared code, you can provide visitors with time-limited access or a QR code.

The readers include the G3 Reader, G3 Reader Pro, G3 Reader Fingerprint, G3 Intercom, G6 Entry, G6 Pro Entry, Reader Flex, and Access Ultra.

Installation and Fire Safety

Doors must release on a fire alarm, and tying the readers into the fire alarm system is the installer's job.
